Vital structure of secondary pine forests in the central part of the Kola Peninsula

Abstract

The vital structure of the edifying synusion of secondary lichen and moss-lichen pine forests of III-IV age classes in the central part of the Kola Peninsula (Murmansk region) has been studied. It has been established that in background areas the vital structure of the tree layer reflects natural successional processes during the restoration of communities after external disturbances (logging, fires). Against the background of the observed natural fluctuations in the vital state of the tree layer of P. sylvestris communities, significant changes in it were noted under the influence of atmospheric pollutants, from inhibition of tree growth and development to their death.
