Peer-Review

Reviewing is carried out in order to ensure the high quality of scientific materials submitted for publication in the Journal “Izvestia Sankt-Peterburgskoj lesotehniceskoj akademii” and an objective assessment of their scientific content.

An article received by the editor is registered and assigned an individual number.

The manuscript of a scientific article received by the editors of the Journal “Izvestia Sankt-Peterburgskoj lesotehniceskoj akademii” is reviewed by the editor-in-chief or executive secretary to determine whether the manuscript of the scientific article complies with the profile of the collection, the design requirements, and is sent for review to a specialist.

Reviewing is carried out by doctors or candidates of science who have published publications on the subject of the article over the past 5 years. To publish an article, you must have at least two reviews.

All reviews of articles are stored by the editorial office for 5 years. The editors send copies of reviews to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation upon receipt of a corresponding request by the editors.

Reviewers are notified that the manuscripts sent to them are the intellectual property of the authors and are classified as non-disclosure information. They must not use knowledge of the contents of the work prior to its publication for their own benefit. The period for submitting a review should not exceed one month from the date of receipt of consent to review the materials from the reviewer.

The review must objectively evaluate a scientific article and contain a comprehensive analysis of its scientific and methodological advantages and disadvantages. The review form is sent to the reviewer by the editors of the collection along with the text of the article being reviewed.

If the manuscript does not meet one or more criteria in the review form, the reviewer indicates the need to refine the article and gives recommendations to the author on improving the manuscript (indicating the inaccuracies and errors made by the author). The editors inform the author of the results of the review. Articles revised by the author are re-sent for review to the same reviewer who made critical comments, or to another at the discretion of the editors. If the author disagrees with the reviewer’s comments, he may apply for re-review or retract the article.

Reviewing articles is anonymous. Reviewer information is not disclosed to the author(s). The name of the reviewer can be communicated to the author(s) of the article only at the request of the reviewer and only with his written consent.

Based on the results of the review, the article may be rejected, sent to the author for revision, or accepted for publication.

In case of refusal to publish an article, the editors send a reasoned refusal to the author within 10 days. Articles that are not prepared in accordance with the requirements of the editors and whose authors refuse to technically refine the articles are not allowed for publication; articles whose authors do not comply with the reviewer’s constructive comments or do not refute them with reason.

An article accepted for publication, but in need of revision, is sent to the authors with comments from the reviewer and editor. The authors must make all necessary corrections to the final version of the manuscript and return the corrected text to the editor.

Manuscripts accepted for publication are not returned. The final decision on accepting the author’s article and placing it in one of the issues of the collection is made at a meeting of the editorial board. The editors inform the author about the decision made.

If the opinions of reviewers regarding the manuscript under review are inconsistent (for example, if one of the reviewers recommends rejecting the article, and the second allows publication of the article after revision), then the editors send the manuscript for review to a member of the editorial board responsible for the quality of the corresponding section of the collection. A review by a member of the editorial board is the basis for accepting an article for publication (subject to its revision) or rejecting it.

In order to facilitate the high-quality formation of an editorial portfolio in the profile of the Journal “Izvestia Sankt-Peterburgskoj lesotehniceskoj akademii”, to ensure a high level of scientific and practical significance of the materials presented by the authors, as well as to increase the thematic diversity of the Journal issues, the editorial board has the right to reject publication of an article in one issue same topic, in cases of partial or complete coincidence of the group of authors.
