“Izvestia Sankt-Peterburgskoj lesotehniceskoj akademii” has been published since 1886, when it was first published under the title “Yearbook of the St. Petersburg Forestry Institute.” The yearbook consisted of two sections: the “Official Section”, which contained information about reports on the state of the St. Petersburg Forestry Institute, the number and composition of students, etc., and the “Unofficial Section”, which published scientific works of students and teachers of the Institute. The traditional structure of the publication has been preserved to this day and includes both a chronicle of scientific life and scientific works, organized by topic (with annotations in Russian and English).

Throughout its history, “Izvestia Sankt-Peterburgskoj lesotehniceskoj akademii” has repeatedly changed its name.
