Author Guidelines
The editors accept for consideration previously unpublished articles that represent original scientific research on topics corresponding to the profile and scientific level of the Journal “Izvestia Sankt-Peterburgskoj lesotehniceskoj akademii”. The author(s) is responsible for the accuracy of the content and authorship of the material presented. If a previously published work is discovered that repeats the results of an article under consideration, the editors reserve the right to refuse to publish the article to the author(s).
The author(s) provides the following documents to the editors of the Journal “Izvestia Sankt-Peterburgskoj lesotehniceskoj akademii”:
- author's application for publication of materials in the Journal “Izvestia Sankt-Peterburgskoj lesotehniceskoj akademii”;
- an extract from the minutes of the department/laboratory meeting or a referral from the organization in which the work was performed;
- expert opinion on the possibility of publishing the article in the open press - from the organization in which the work was carried out;
- electronic file of the article in doc or docx formats;
- self-test report in the Anti-Plagiarism system.
If necessary, at the stage of preparing the original layout, only if the editorial board of the Journal makes a positive decision to accept the article for publication, the author(s) may be issued a corresponding certificate.
Articles submitted to the editor must be formatted in accordance with the Design Template.
- Articles must include the following main elements:
1.1. UDC index;
1.2. initials and surname of the author(s);
1.3. title, which should concisely reflect the content of the article, the main idea, topic and results of the study;
1.4. introduction;
1.5. materials and research methodology;
1.6. research results and discussion;
1.7. conclusion;
1.8. description of the authors' contribution (optional if there is only one author);
1.9. patents (optional);
1.10. information about financing (if available);
1.11. thanks (optional);
1.12. information about the presence/absence of a conflict of interest;
1.13. bibliography in Russian;
1.14. bibliography in English;
1.15. abstract and keywords in Russian;
1.16. abstract and keywords in English;
1.17. information about the authors in Russian;
1.18. information about the authors in English.
- Basic requirements for the text:
2.1. the text of the article (volume from 8 to 15 pages in A4 format including all sections of the article) must be formatted: text editor MS Word 6.0 and higher; font – Times New Roman, font size 14 pt (for main text), 13 pt (for tables, captions to figures and their titles, abstract, keywords); line spacing – single; margins: top and bottom – 3 cm, left and right – 2.5 cm; paragraph indent – 1.25 cm; text alignment – to the width of the page; A4 format;
2.2. not allowed: page numbering; setting paragraph indentation using the Tab key or spaces; more than one space between words;
2.3. it is necessary, in accordance with the rules, to use the hyphen “-” and dash “–”; use only quotes "...";
2.4. when foreign institutions, companies, branded products, etc. are mentioned in the text, as well as foreign surnames (with the exception of well-known ones found in encyclopedic publications and surnames that are referenced in the list of references), their original is given in Russian transliteration in parentheses writing;
2.5. the dimension of all quantities adopted in the article must correspond to the International System of Units of Measurement (SI);
2.6. drawings, graphs, diagrams, diagrams and other graphic materials must be inserted into the main text of the article; It is mandatory to have the names of the drawings and their captions in both Russian and English; captions to the figures and their titles are typed in 13 pt font;
2.7. Table design is accepted only in portrait orientation; the text in the tables is typed in 13 pt font; the names of the tables are given in bold font in both Russian and English; if the article contains only one table, then it does not need to be numbered;
2.8. references to the sources used are given in the text in square brackets indicating the author's surname and year [Alexandrova, 2001; Alieva et al., 2005].
2.9. formulas must be typed in the MathType or Microsoft Equation formula editor;
2.10. chemical formulas must be typed using specialized programs (for example, ChemWin or Chem4word);
2.11. illustrations, tables, formulas, equations and footnotes found in the article must be numbered in accordance with the order of citation in the text;
2.12. the text of the manuscript must be presented in scientific language (with its inherent logic, objectivity, semantic accuracy (unambiguous expression of thoughts), informative richness, lack of imagery and emotionality), and have a clear semantic structure.
- The bibliographic list is drawn up in accordance with GOST R 7.0.100–2018. Bibliographic references are given in alphabetical order without numbering. Literary references to modern literature are recommended published scientific publications on forestry. Links to GOSTs, TUs, decrees, orders, etc. are not listed in the bibliography (you can place them in the text of the article or provide footnotes on the page).
- Information about the authors must contain the full last name, first name, patronymic, academic title, academic degree, place of work, place of study (with postal code), contact email address, ORCID (if available), SPIN code (if available), Web of Science Research ID (if available), Scopus Author ID (if available). Information is provided in Russian and English.
- An abstract allows you to obtain information about an article without reading the full text of the document. The abstract must be compiled in strict accordance with the requirements of “GOST R 7.0.99-2018 System of standards for information, library and publishing. Abstract and annotation. General requirements". The abstract should consist of 200-250 words (approximately an A4 page in font 13 pt). The text of the abstract should not contain information that is not in the original text of the article. The text is formatted without breaking into paragraphs, the use of introductory words and phrases is not allowed, and literary sources are not cited. The abstract must include all aspects of the article. Tables, formulas, drawings, pictures, diagrams, diagrams are not included in the abstract.
- Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements are not accepted for publication and are not returned to the authors. The Editorial Board does not revise (including shorten) manuscripts and reserves the right to select articles without a written explanation of the reason for rejection.
